3. Derek Luke
Derek Luke came to the attention of most fans after his brief appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger as Howling Commandos member Gabe Jones. Since then, he’s been suggested for many a comic book movie role, and has also delivered impressive performances in the likes of The Americans. Like a couple of the other suggestions on this list, Luke is yet ANOTHER actor just waiting on that one big role, and Luke Cage could do wonders for his career. More importantly, he has both the looks and physicality to portray a convincing version of this character in Marvel and Netflix’s planned TV series. His youthful appearance also lends itself well to a younger version of the character, as there is of course still a strong chance that this will be an origin story. Either way, Luke has already shown that he can stand alongside the Cap, so being a member of The Defenders with Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist isn’t exactly all that tough to picture!
