Jeremy Renner (The Avengers) leads the charge in The Bourne Legacy next month, the fourth instalment in the Bourne franchise that Matt Damon has led up until now.

Following the epic new trailer we caught for the film back in May, three great new action-packed TV spots have made their way online, giving us a taste of the adrenaline rushes we can look forward in August.

“The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.”

Having co-written the first and third films, and written the second himself, Tony Gilroy steps behind the camera for the franchise’s fourth outing, directing from a script he co-wrote with brother Dan Gilroy (Real Steel, The Fall).

Alongside Renner will be a superb supporting cast, headed up by Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Oscar Isaac, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, and David Strathairn.

Producer Frank Marshall recently said that his dream would be for a fifth instalment to star both Renner and Damon, and you’d better believe that would be something to look forward to. No doubt we’ll have a better idea of how concrete that dream might become after this summer’s release.

The Bourne Legacy will be released in the US on 10th August, followed ever so slightly later in the UK on 13th August. Mark your calendars, because this looks like it should be a lot of fun. Here are the great new TV spots to prove it.
