3-Days-to-Kill-Poster-sliceWe’re two days out from one of the biggest sporting events of the year, and we’ve already seen three great TV spots for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Noah, and Draft Day. With plenty coming our way at the end of the weekend, Relativity is following suit and launching their spot early online for McG’s 3 Days to Kill.

Kevin Costner leads the upcoming action-thriller, and after just seeing a new international trailer launch this week, it’s nice to see even more of what’s to come.

In this distinctive action-thriller, Kevin Costner plays an elite government hit man who after receiving news that he has a terminal disease, decides to give up his high stakes life to finally build a relationship with his estranged wife and daughter, whom he’s previously kept at arm’s length to keep out of danger. But when his agency offers him an experimental, potentially life-saving drug in exchange for one last mission, it’s an offer he can’t refuse – even if it means juggling his two toughest assignments yet: going after the world’s most ruthless terrorist and caring for his daughter for the first time in ten years while his wife is out of town.

Amber Heard takes the female lead, looking brilliant as the femme fatale figure, with Hailee Steinfeld and Connie Nielsen completing the cast.

McG (Terminator Salvation, We Are Marshall) directs from a script by Luc Besson and Adi Hasak (From Paris With Love), with Besson producing under his Eurocorp banner.

The little monologue from Costner’s retired hit man very much has a flavour of Taken, which was of course co-written by Luc Besson as well. No doubt the film will be eyeing a similar kind of audience, and it will be interesting to see how the box office numbers play out next month.

3 Days to Kill will be released in the US on February 21st, making this Super Bowl spot a prime new point to drive McG’s latest blockbuster. No word yet on a UK release date, but hopefully that will be changing soon.
