Not sure what I think about this casting after the first instalment of Kick-Ass and the tone that was set but I guess we have to trust that the people at Universal Pictures know what they’re doing as news breaks that Jim Carrey is being tapped up star in the sequel to the 2010 Matthew Vaughan directed movie.
Deadline released the news that the Ace Ventura star is being ‘courted’ to star as ‘The Colonel’ in the Jeff Wadlow directed sequel. This second instalment has the title Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall and will see the return of Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage.
According to Deadline:
The Colonel, helps galvanize the team of misfit super heroes assembled to fight evil.
Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall is expected to be released summer 2013. More as we get it.
