Led by Tom Cruise, Jack Reacher is set to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, closing out 2012 in style in a month’s time, in the same slot as Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol was given last year.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), we saw the first full-length trailer land last month, and have seen a handful of TV spots since, most recently with a 60-second TV spot last night, and now Paramount have released two new UK TV spots, equally packed with action.
“When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.”
Starring alongside Cruise will be an excellent cast, headed up by Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall, and Werner Herzog.
McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) is directing from his own script, having adapted the original novel, One Shot, by Lee Child.
Jack Reacher will be hitting US theatres on 21st December, just in time for Christmas, following shortly after in the UK with a Boxing Day release on 26th December. With The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey released just one week before in the States, it will be very interesting to see how both films fare in Jack Reacher’s opening weekend.
