Bioware have unveiled the first details and (excuse us while we squeal like tiny little gaming girls) the first trailer for Mass Effect 3.
Fans of the RPG it’s acceptable to like have been waiting with baited breath since Mass Effect’s climax for news on Shephard and his crew, and from the looks of it things are as cheery as you’d expect.
You can see the against-all-odds view from Earth in the trailer below, but the official synopsis says it all:
“Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth.”
On the plus side, it’s been confirmed that the series will ship simultaneously on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC for the first time.
