Is it just us, or does the figure of Milla Jovovich look as if it is being flanked by the wings of an angel in this new, and final ever poster for a Resident Evil movie*.
If so then the marketing team may be offering us a sign as to the tragic ultimate end for Paul W. S. Anderson’s chaotic zombie film series. There’s a fair chance after all this nonsense endured for five films thus far can only be finished by the lead character going down in a Bon Jovi blaze of glory.
Or it could a cool poster design that fits especially well on buses? Who knows? But this little synopsis should help you out somewhat.
Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began – The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.
Joining Jovovich for the final ride on the Merry-go-Zombie are Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, Rola, Lee Joon-Gi, William Levy and Game of Thrones’ Iain Glen. Will we learn some sort of ultimate secret in the end, or is this all a chomping monster mash evocation of the futility of existence?
The Resident Evil film series takes its final bow on the 3rd of February, 2017. This is the new poster to tease and excite.
*until the reboot in a year’s time. Starring Hailee Steinfeld and John Lithgow. Porbably.
