The line between the big and small screen continues to blur, with A-List Hollywood actors happy to star in TV shows, and the production values of many of them matching any big budget summer blockbuster.

Look no further than True Detective and The Flash for proof of that, but sometimes it’s hard to escape the feeling that a TV series should in fact be a movie or at least get the chance to be concluded in style on the big screen, regardless of whether it was cancelled prematurely or simply deserves to got out with a bang.

Here, we take a look at just ten TV shows which we believe deserve a big screen send off. Some are no longer even on the air, while others were brought to an end before fans were given a chance to see the stories of their favourite character reach a conclusion.

Have we missed any of your favourites?

10. Gotham

Gotham

Perhaps we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves here, but this could work perfectly if handled properly. Assuming Gotham continues for another six of seven years on TV, the now 13-year-old David Mazouz would be old enough to play a young Batman on the big screen.

Ben Affleck will probably have had enough of portraying The Dark Knight by this point, and as the team working on this series have revealed that it will end with Bruce Wayne donning the cape and cowl for the first time, continuing his story in a movie would feel like a natural progression. It would also give fans the opportunity to see the characters they’ve followed for years evolve into those they know from the comic books, but all of this obviously depends on Gotham’s staying power.

Needless to say, a seven or eight year long superhero origin story would be a new record.
