All performers are either offered roles they must decline, or are rejected during the casting process, but sometimes this is more of a blessing than a curse. Jones has been a hot pick by many casters during her career, and was at one point approached to star in the dismal Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation. A dodged bullet there.
However one role was heartbreaking for her to turn down due to commitments of London theatrical piece Luise Miller: she was set to star alongside Julia Roberts in 2012’s Snow White adaptation Mirror, Mirror. Whilst passing up the opportunity to perform next to cinematic royalty was tough, the film ended up becoming a total dud; disappointing critics and audiences alike. One less stain to remove on the portfolio, then.
