3. King Loki (Thor: The Dark World)
Thank goodness Thor: The Dark World has performed so well at the box office, because this ending is the perfect set up for a third instalment. Tom Hidddleson’s Loki has become even more popular than the titular hero, so it came as a huge surprise to everyone when it appeared as if Marvel Studios had decided to kill him off!
While keen viewers did realise that he perhaps faked his death and disguised himself as an Asgardian soldier when they went to recover his body, it’s hard to imagine anyone expecting the big reveal at the very end of the movie; that Loki had somehow later disguised himself as Odin in order to rule Asgard in secret! It’s bordering on being a cliffhanger ending, and with Ultron taking centre stage in The Avengers sequel, fans are already counting down the days until Thor 3 is announced!
