Hold on to your holsters boys and girls for we have an extended sneak peek into the world of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower with the focus lay solely at the feet of Idris Elba’s Gunslinger, Roland Deschain.

The trailer come featurette, titled Legacy of the Gunslinger, delves into King’s story of the Gunslinger, featuring explanations of the character from the lips of the man playing the role of the good force, Idris Elba. Elba is accompanied by Matthew McConaughey, who takes on the role as his arch nemesis the Man in Black and the author himself, Stephen King, praising Elba’s depiction of his character.

Explaining, “for century’s the gunslinger’s where knights sworn to protect us from the coming of the dark” Elba’s Roland is the last in the line of these Knights who needs to protect the Tower which protects our world from chaos. As well as being a showreel for Roland, it’s a gritty and perilous one for Elba to add to his soaring collection of career defining moments.

Written and directed by The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and A Royal Affairs Nikolaj Arcel, Elba and McConaughey are joined on the cast by Katheryn Winnick and Abbey Lee.
