With Disney’s annual D23 event less than a week away rumours persist that we’ll be seeing some new footage from JJ Abrams’ forthcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. A new TV spot from Korea has appeared online lending credence to this hearsay.

Now, don’t get too excited. This first TV spot has only a few seconds of new footage to show off, the rest is an amalgam of previously released footage from the first two trailers. What it does show off is the other side of the shot at the head of this article and it’s a fearsome new look at the First Order’s show of strength.

Star Wars The Force Awakens

There’s no word yet on what we’ll see at D23 as The Force Awakens is sharing a stage with other Disney films, including the rumoured first look at Captain America: Civil War. What we are hoping to see is something from the Star Wars Anthology film Rogue One now that the agreement with Paramount has ended following Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation’s release.

This new footage from the Korean TV spot does hint at something substantial being shown although JJ Abrams said himself at Star Wars Celebration there would not be a new, full trailer until the Fall, so September or October. With Force Friday set to unleash a torrent of merchandising on the 4th of September can another trailer be far behind?
