Last night, Marvel and Netflix held a panel for The Defenders at the New York Comic Con, with the focus specifically on Daredevil and Jessica Jones (Luke Cage star Mike Colter was there, but only to talk about his role in the latter, while there’s still no word on Iron Fist).

Due to both shows being in the fairly late stages of production – Jessica Jones actually hits Netflix next month – there weren’t a lot of major reveals, but some very interesting details were still dropped. For example, it’s now been confirmed that Carrie Anne Moss (The Matrix) is playing Jeryn Hogarth, a character with some pretty major connections to Iron Fist.

In the comic books, Hogarth (a man in the comics) was a lawyer who worked for Wendell Rand, the father of Danny Rand/Iron Fist. After Wendell’s death, he became the executor of his estate and kept Wendell’s son under surveillance after his return to the US, hiring Colleen Wing and Misty Knight to contact him and verify that he was truly who he claimed to be.

That was pretty much it for Jessica Jones, though fans lucky enough to be in attendance got to watch the first episode of the series, and reviews have so far been very positive.

The first footage from season two of Daredevil was also shown, and while brief, it offered up a glimpse of the hero in full costume, along with shots of Elektra and The Punisher getting ready for action. Unfortunately, that’s yet to be released online by Marvel and Netflix.

Some pretty interesting reveals then, even if there was nothing particularly huge. Still, even these minor new details should get you excited for what’s to come for both of these heroes!
