As Emperor hits our screens today, we had the pleasure of sitting down with its lead star Matthew Fox, to discuss the period war drama.
Based on real events, Fox plays General Bonner Fellers, a Japanese expert left with the immense task of deciding whether the Emperor Hirohito should be trialled for war crimes and subsequently hanged. It’s an intense drama, and Fox shines alongside co-lead Tommy Lee Jones. Fox discusses his research into these fascinating set of events, admitting that he initially thought his character was a fictional creation.
