The initial line-up for Sundance 2013 has just been announced, and among the films heading to Utah is Sebastián Silva’s Crystal Fairy.
Michael Cera takes the lead, and the first images of him and his co-stars have debuted online to coincide with the announcement from the festival.
Cera has already worked with Silva on the upcoming Magic Magic – the first images from which we saw last month – and with two films in such a short space of time, it could be the start of an interesting partnership between the Chilean writer-director and the Canadian actor.
“Jamie invites a stranger to join a road trip to Chile. The woman’s free and esoteric nature clashes with Jamie’s acidic, self-absorbed personality as they head into the desert for a Mescaline-fueled psychedelic trip.”
Cera stars alongside Gabby Hoffmann, Juan Andrés Silva, José Miguel Silva, and Agustín Silva, with Sebastián Silva directing from his own script.
Crystal Fairy will be making its world premiere at Sundance in January, and I’m personally hoping that it will be one of the films selected to head over to Sundance London in April. For now, here are the great first images from the film.
