The summer of 2018 is looking female feisty with the release of the all-female Ocean’s 8 and from the looks of the first image that has just become available we certainly wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of these ladies – that probably explains the lack of any male passengers on the carriage.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ first look at “Ocean’s 8” from one of New York City’s most iconic locales: the subway. The tide will turn as (L-r) Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew. That said crew only happens to be some of the most bad-ass actresses that currently rule the big screen. These include Lou (Cate Blanchett), Nine Ball (Rhianna), Amita (Mindy Kaling), Constance (Awkwafina), Rose (Helena Bonham Carter), Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway) and Tammy (Sarah Paulson).

Directed and co-written by the Free State of Jones, The Hunger Games and Seabiscuit director Gary Ross our leading ladies aren’t the only well-known names to jump on board this high-speed train. The likes of Dakota Fanning, Damian Lewis, James Corden, Matt Damon, Zayn Malik and even the Kardashian/Jenner family have wangled what we can only assume are cameo appearances  – So the calibre of acting talent is top notch then.

The Ocean’s comedy heist trilogy – which was directed by Steven Soderbergh who acts as a producer on Ocean’s 8 – saw its first outing with Ocean’s Eleven back in 2001 with the all-male cast which was lead by George Clooney and Brad Pitt was a roaring success with an overall worldwide box office intake of over $1,000,000,000 dollars. Can the ladies prove that women can do it a hell of a lot better than their male counterparts? Watch this space.
