We have a long time to wait until Shazam is released in 2019, but Dwayne Johnson is doing what he does best during the press tour for the epic looking San Andreas by keeping fans excited about the DC Comics adaptation despite it being four years away. In the movie, he’ll the play the villain/anti-hero Black Adam.

“I can’t wait,” Johnson said when asked if he’s excited to play the villain in Shazam. “He’s a unique type of villain. When you start off as a slave, you’re not in a good mood! There’s a heavy wrath that a lot of people have to pay. But when it’s fuelled by a righteous anger if you will, like Black Adam, then you open up to what the character can be which I’m really excited about. That’s why he’s not just a straightforward bad guy.”

You have to imagine that Warner Bros. are also considering a spinoff for Black Adam once Shazam is released given Johnson’s massive popularity, but it will be interesting to see him play the bad guy for a change in 2019 regardless. Keep watching the video as the actor also talks about a possible WWE return!
