‘Scrubs’ actor Zach Braff has joined the cast of the Disney+ remake of ‘Cheaper By The Dozen’, which is set for a release in 2022.

Braff will star alongside Gabrielle Union, the latest version will centre on a multiracial, blended family of 12, navigating a hectic home life and their family business.

Gail Lerner will helm the film from ‘Black-ish’ Creator Kenya Barris co-written script. Barris will also produce, Union will executive produce, along with Shawn Levy.

This will be the third incarnation of the film, the first was released back in 1950 and based on the autobiographical book by Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. The best-known version came in 2003 with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt as the parents to the huge Baker clan. The cast also included Hilary Duff, Ashton Kutcher and Dax Shepard. The film was so popular it garnered a sequel in 2005.

Braff has had numerous role since his days on ‘Scrubs’, he has since gone on to star in ‘Oz The Great and the Wonderful’, ‘The Disaster Artist’ and ‘The Comeback Trial’. He has also starred in the TV series’ ‘BoJack Horseman’ and Alex, Inc.
