Apple TV+ has officially expanded Legendary Entertainment’s ever-growing Monsterverse with the announcement of an untitled Young Lee Shaw prequel series, with Wyatt Russell set to reprise his fan-favourite role as Colonel Lee Shaw.

The new spinoff marks a major casting and creative move for the franchise. Emmy-nominated screenwriter and producer Joby Harold has been tapped to serve as showrunner, while also stepping into a broader leadership role under a newly announced overall deal with Legendary. As part of that agreement, Harold will oversee Legendary’s entire Monsterverse slate for Apple TV+, guiding future projects that bring together new Titans and iconic fan favourites.

Starring and executive produced by Russell, the series will follow a younger Lee Shaw in 1984, when the American operative embarks on a covert mission behind enemy lines. Tasked with stopping the Soviets from unleashing a terrifying new Titan powerful enough to devastate the United States, Shaw finds himself at the centre of a high-stakes confrontation that could shift the balance of the Cold War.
