In case you’ve missed the awesome casting to date for the next project Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Clash of the Titans) steps behind the lens for, Now You See Me, let’s have some fun playing a little catch-up.

With a script coming from relative newcomer Edward Ricourt and his new writing partner Boaz Yakin (Prince of Persia, the upcoming Jason Statham-starrer Safe), the cast currently includes Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Isla Fisher, and Mélanie Laurent.

So far, so awesome. Word now comes from The Playlist that the twice Oscar-nominated Woody Harrelson, that brilliant actor capable of both pure comedy gold and dramatic excellence, has signed on to join the already fantastic cast for this magician heist film.

“[T]he story follows a crack FBI squad in a game of cat-and-mouse against a super team of the world’s greatest illusionists, who pull off a series of daring bank heists during their performances and shower the profits onto their audiences.

Harrelson will play Merritt Osbourne, a former mentalist and hypnotist to the Queen Of England who is now slumming it in Las Vegas when he teams up with illusionist team The Four Horsemen to pull a few jobs. He’s said to employ some Jedi style mind tricks as part of his bag of tricks.”

With such a great cast in place, I’m really starting to look forward to this project quite a lot now. I’m a big lover of the heist genre, and when you’re mixing it up with what will undoubtedly be some beautiful visuals of the magicians’ illusions, and setting up as high-profile a cast as the film already has, it can really only bode well for Now You See Me.
