For all those sore over the fact that the first look images from Guy Ritchie’s ‘Aladdin’ was missing a blue Will Smith as the Genie, Disney has revealed a first look TV spot. Now you may want to shove him right back in that lamp.

Smith’s Genie really is a bit of an eye-opener and has caused a bit of a meltdown on social media with many mocking his bulking frame and residence in the uncanny valley.

Directed by Ritchie from a screenplay adapted by John August, The part musical will feature a score from Alan Menken alongside a number of original songs re-recorded plus two new numbers Menken co-wrote with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The film stars Will Smith as the Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmin, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as handmaiden Dalia, Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders, and Numan Acar as palace guards head Hakim.
