Göteborg, Sweden – With musical talent and films from around the world and set at the perfect central location, in the flora and fauna of Slottsskogen, Way Out West has become one of the Europe’s biggest summer festivals.

2016 looks like it will be another record year of attendance as Way Out West has increased audience capacity at the 3-day festival. This year, Way Out West welcomes some incredible artists such as Morrissey, SIA and PJ Harvey, just to mention a few.

New this year, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Way Out West, is Way Out West Talks. The brand new ‘Talks’ stage will feature various panels, speeches, spoken words and debates focusing on different perspectives of creativity and sustainability.

Way Out West Film has been proud to present daily film screenings as an integral part of the festival for the past five years. Continuing with festival tradition, music-related films remain the core, but the line-up will also include many unique, social documentaries and a few will even be followed by Q & A with the film’s director.

The Way Out West film line-up will include many full-length and short films that will have their Swedish and Nordic premieres at Way Out West such as Bugs, the Girl with all the Gifts, Queens of Syria and The Swedish Theory of Love. In addition, Way Out West has the privilege to screen the first episode of the new Netflix series ‘The Get Down’, which tells the story about how a group of teens from the Bronx changes the world though their music. The fist six episodes will be released by Netflix the very same day that Way out West shows the very first episode.
