There’s no stopping Vin Diesel! Between the Fast and Furious franchise and his campaign for an even larger role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are lots of big things on the horizon for the actor, and that now includes yet another instalment in the Riddick franchise!

The actor actually revealed last year that there was interesting in another movie, and he took to Instagram today to make that official. However, the Riddick franchise is also going to be expanding to the small screen with a very interesting sounding television series too.

The “DT” Diesel is referring to in the post below is David Twohy, the writer and director of all three Riddick films. The franchise kicked off with 2000’s Pitch Black, and was followed by The Chronicles of Riddick in 2004, with a surprise return for the character in 2013’s Riddick.

The Riddick movies have never been massive box office hits (all three have earned only $267 million in total), but have a reasonably solid following, doing well on DVD and Blu-ray.

Here’s the full announcement which was posted online this afternoon courtesy of Diesel:

Last night Our company had a party to launch Our TV division. Very exciting. MERC CITY is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe. Next Month, DT begins writing the next Chapter in the Chronicles of Riddick… FURIA. #HappyFurianFriday
