‘The Crown’ and ‘Hobbs & Shaw actress, Vanessa Kirby has confirmed to will be returning to the character of Alanna Mitsopolis/White Widow in both ‘Mission: Impossible’ 7 and 8.

Kirby joins the list of returning stars after Simon Pegg announced he would be back for at least one of the upcoming sequels only a couple of weeks ago.

Filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie, after penning and directing both ‘Rogue Nation’ and ‘Fallout’ will return for both the seventh and eighth films which will be shot back to back.

Nicholas Hoult and Hayley Atwell, Shea Wigham and Pom Klementieff are the newest members to join the franchise while Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, and Ving Rhames will return.

Back in January 2019, Tom Cruise made the announcement that both M:I 7 and 8 are in the pipeline with Christopher McQuarrie at the helm. Both projects in the franchise will be filmed back to back with scheduled releases coming with instalment 7 in the summer of 2021 and the eighth in 2022.

McQuarrie had already made it clear he was looking to do something ‘different’ and had meeting’s with Paramount to possible work on the Michael B. Jordan lead Tom Clancy adaptation ‘Without Remorse’. Paramount has convinced him differently after the runaway success of ‘Fallout’. Wanting to build on that, we can imagine they put in an offer he simply could not refuse.

After starring in the Amazon Prime series ‘The Boys’, Pegg’s upcoming films include thriller ‘Inheritance’ with Lily Collins and comedy thriller ‘My Only Sunshine with J.K Simmons.

Kirby has recently wrapped filming ‘Pieces of a Women’ opposite Shia LaBeouf. The seventh instalment of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ saga is due to commence filming this year.
