Empire have scored an exclusive look at the UK quad for one of the year’s most anticipated US indie releases, Winter’s Bone.
The film (out in the UK on September 17) won the Grand Jury prize at Sundance this year and there’s much buzz building around the performance of its 20-year-old lead Jennifer Lawrence, who is set to play Raven in next year’s X-Men: First Class.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Seventeen-year-old Ree Dolly sets out to track down her father, who put their house up for his bail bond and then disappeared. If she fails, Ree and her family will be turned out into the Ozark woods. Challenging her outlaw kin’s code of silence and risking her life, Ree hacks through the lies, evasions and threats offered up by her relatives and begins to piece together the truth.
