A couple of new images for you today from Tomas Alfredson’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy including a first look at Colin Firth.

Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman join Firth in the new adaptation of John LeCarre’s celebrated episonage novel which made its mark on the small screen in the 1970s with Alec Guinness in the leading role. Alfredson’s previous movie, Let the Right One In, was widely acclaimed as one of the most haunting and affecting horrors for a long time, and when Colin Firth appeared to accept a few more paperweights at the Empire Awards earlier this year he paid tribute to the director, claiming that the film would be something truly special.

Of course he would say that, but we were privy to a world exclusive look at some footage from the film and what little we saw did point to a nicely taut thriller. LeCarre’s work will be further illuminated onto the silver screen by an impressive cast which includes Mark Strong, recent Hobbit entrant Benedict Cumberbatch, John Hurt and Kathy Burke as well as our three dapper chaps below.

Can’t wait myself – you?
