Four schoolfriends are packing their bags for a fortnight’s fun in Zante when one of them decides they should head elsewhere. Rotterdam. It found fame courtesy of The Beautiful South, but it’s hardly a dream holiday destination – and when the girls arrive, there’s a dead body in the freezer, a cannabis factory in the swimming pool, bags of heroin scattered around the house and vicious Irish gangsters who want to get their hands on the lot.

It’s the set-up for Sky’s new comedy thriller, Then You Run, which arrives on our screens this Friday. Mixing true crime with dark comedy and a smattering of Tarantino, its eight episodes follow the four girls as they go on the run to escape the gangsters and a mysterious serial killer known as The Traveller. The cast includes up-coming actors Vivian Oparah, Isidora Fairhurst, Leah McNamara and Yasmin Monet Prince as the tight-knit group, with Richard Coyle leading the mobsters on their tail.

The four actors at the centre of the action chatted to us about their respective characters in the show – they’re all completely different – dream road trips and friends they’d never take on holiday with them. McNamara also recalls a holiday of her own which went disastrously wrong, while Fairhurst talks about “driving” some wonderful cars and Oparah explains the various meanings that go with her character’s name. It’s Stink.

Then You Run is available on Sky Max and streaming service NOW from 7 July.
