Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is already shaping up to be pretty exciting with the addition of Arrow star Stephen Amell as Casey Jones and Gone Girl’s Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, but now another major character has been cast. That’s iconic villain Shredder, and The Wolverine’s Brian Tee will play him.

Brian Tee

The character of course appeared in the 2014 movie, but the casting of Tee indicates that he’ll take on a much larger role in the sequel. That should keep fans of the villain very happy indeed, and while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles received a mixed reaction from critics, it was a box office hit with a $485 million haul.

The original cast will all return, as will Megan Fox. Former wrestler turned UFC competitor CM Punk recently revealed that he’s auditioned for a role in the sequel, but it’s not clear as to who that is. Blockbuster, maybe?

The sequel was announced shortly after the first instalment of the Michael Bay produced franchise opened, and it’s set to be released on June 3rd, 2016. David Green is set to direct from a script by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec. For those wondering, it was Tohoru Masamune  who played the villain in the 2014 movie.

Brian Tee will next be seen in Jurassic World. Stay tuned for more on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2!
