It’s been nearly a year since Robert Eggers’ haunting debut screened out in Sundance. It won the Jury Prize for Eggers’ directing and made a slow, creeping crawl across the globe in the year since, chilling spines and winning praise in equal measure.

The film has attracted the reputation of being a dark gothic fairytale, the story of a young ostracised family whose daughter is suspecting of being in league with the devil. Game of Thrones stars Ralph Ineson and Kate Dickie lead the film along with the star of Eggers’ sideshow – Anya Taylor-Joy.

The film is out on the 11th of March here in the UK, our 5 star review from Sundance is here.
