Entertainment Weekly’s covers are often very hit or miss, but a new batch for the upcoming fifth season of The Walking Dead are definitely the best we’ve seen from the American magazine in quite some time.
On them are Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Maggie (Lauren Cohen), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) each preparing for action, though based on the recently released trailer for season five of the hit series, it’s against the residents of Terminus rather than the undead!
In the interview with the site, comic book writer and The Walking Dead producer Robert Kirkman had this to say about what’s next for the survivors in season five. “By minute two or three of our season premiere, I think the vast majority of our questions have been answered and five or six more have been presented, so you’re very much going to be invested, well-informed, and ready for the ride that we’re going to take you on.”
Andrew Lincoln meanwhile promised that this season of The Walking Dead will be even bloodier and more intense than the previous four years. “We’re really earning our rating this season,” he teased. “There are families that watch it together, but just so it’s on the record, guys—it’s a grown-up show this season.”
