The-To-Do-List-PosterLed by the ever-brilliant young Aubrey Plaza, The To Do List is an absolute must-see comedy of the summer.

We saw an awesome new red-band trailer for the movie last week, and if the finished product lives up to the expectations that set, then it’s going to be a huge hit. Its summer release date is not at all far off, and now a cheeky first poster has made its way online.

Set in 1993, valedictorian Brandy Klark wants to shed her uptight image before college, so she assembles a to do list of all the “activities” she missed out on in high school. Quickly realizing that she’s way out of her depth, Brandy solicits her best friends, older sister and burnt-out boss for their help and advice. If the group is going to complete the list by September they’ll need plenty of imagination and very open minds.

Plaza is joined by a brilliant ensemble, led by Bill Hader, Alia Shawkat, Rachel Bilson, Andy Samberg, Scott Porter, Connie Britton, Clark Gregg, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Donald Glover, Johnny Simmons, and Sarah Steele. The cast boasts some of the funniest people around, and is one of the many reasons why I can’t wait for The To Do List to hit.

Maggie Carey is making her feature debut behind the camera, directing from her own script. The film was originally to be released over the Valentine’s weekend earlier this year. But given that its competition would have been A Good Day to Die Hard, I’m definitely glad that its release date was pushed back to the summer, not least because it looks to have much more of a summer feel to it.

The To Do List will be hitting the US on July 26th, and will be crossing the Atlantic a little later to arrive in UK cinemas on 4th October.
