The-To-Do-List-PosterIf you’re reading this out in the US, then consider me jealous for being able to see The To Do List this month, which more than earns its spot as one of our most anticipated movies of the month.

Promising to be one of the funniest films of the year, the movie features an absolutely stellar cast, with Aubrey Plaza returning to centre stage following last year’s flawless Safety Not Guaranteed and Roman Coppola’s A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III earlier this year.

Last month brought with it a brilliant new red-band trailer for The To Do List, giving us another hilarious look at what’s shortly coming our way. And now CBS have released the first clip, which isn’t strictly red-band in terms of language, but naturally very much in terms of what’s really being talked about here.

Set in 1993, valedictorian Brandy Klark wants to shed her uptight image before college, so she assembles a to do list of all the “activities” she missed out on in high school. Quickly realizing that she’s way out of her depth, Brandy solicits her best friends, older sister and burnt-out boss for their help and advice. If the group is going to complete the list by September they’ll need plenty of imagination and very open minds.

Bill Hader, Alia Shawkat, Rachel Bilson, Andy Samberg, Clark Gregg, Connie Britton, Scott Porter, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Donald Glover, Johnny Simmons, and Sarah Steele star alongside Plaza, making up a fantastic comedy ensemble.

Maggie Carey is making her feature debut here as both writer and director.

The To Do List will be released in the US on July 26th, and will unfortunately arrive quite a bit later in the UK on 4th October. It definitely looks like it’ll be worth the wait, though. And wherever you’re reading this, this is an absolute must-see comedy of the year.
