A new TV series from Aaron Sorkin is always good news and this new trailer for The Newsroom shows that it’s more political-charged, pro-intellectual fun from the man.

As with his previous sojourns on the small screen his cast is of the utmost importance and Jeff Daniels appears to have found the right tone for the man at the centre of the storm, anchorman Will McAvoy, and it’ll be his tussle with Emily Mortimer as the new Exec Producer which will no doubt play a huge part in the show.

This is the second trailer we’ve seen for the HBO show (which comes to Sky Atlantic later in the year) and unlike the first, which introduced us to Daniels predominantly, this trailer focuses on the newsroom itself with the rest of the ensemble cast getting some decent time. As it’s Sorkin we can expect some linguistic fireworks and a thrust of liberality which is just how I like it.
