Disney+ has unveiled a new trailer for ‘The Roses,’ a darkly comedic and emotionally charged reimagining of ‘The War of the Roses,’ arriving on the streamer on December 3.
Directed by Jay Roach (Bombshell, Meet the Parents), the film stars Academy Award winners Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman as a seemingly perfect couple whose marriage combusts under the weight of pride, ambition, and resentment.
In ‘The Roses,’ Ivy (Colman) and Theo (Cumberbatch) appear to have it all — thriving careers, a loving home, and two great kids. But beneath the polished veneer, cracks begin to spread. As Theo’s career unravels and Ivy’s star begins to rise, their once-passionate relationship spirals into a fierce battle of egos, envy, and emotional warfare. What begins as small marital spats quickly escalates into full-blown chaos, threatening to destroy everything they’ve built together.
Roach infuses this modern adaptation with biting wit and a distinctly British sensibility, turning Warren Adler’s classic tale into a sharp portrait of love and power gone wrong.
