To celebrate the release of The Muppets Mayhem, which arrives on Disney+ this week, we had the distinct pleasure and honour of chatting with two of The Electric Mayhem Band’s members to learn about their new series.
“The Muppets Mayhem” follows The Electric Mayhem Band — Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on saxophone, and Lips on trumpet — on an epic, music-filled journey to record their first-ever studio album. With the help of a driven young music executive, Nora Singh (Singh), the old-school Muppet band comes face-to-face with the current-day music scene as they try to finally record their first studio album.
Chatting to Animal (!) and Floyd Pepper (!), we talk about touring, recording albums (or lack of), what makes great rock and roll music, responsibilities in the band, the secret to a harmonious band relationship, and what the future could hold for them and much more mayhem therein.
