Tom Holland, nominated for the 2017 BAFTA Raising Star award, is certainly making a punt for building up his acting portfolio this year. He’s set to star as the all new webslinger in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming – to be released in the summer this year – and this talented young man can be seen in the forthcoming biographical action adventure, The Lost City of Z from the 24th of March. And the film now has a brand new trailer.

Yesterday, StudioCanal dropped a teaser that flashed through scenes so quickly it warranted a number of watches. Written and directed by The Immigrant Director, James Gray, and with Brad Pitt in the executive producer’s chair – Pitt was initially due to play Colonel Fawcett but walked away from the role back in 2010. The Lost City of Z ensembles Tom Holland as the son of British explorer Percy Fawcett, with a cast that also includes Charlie Hunnam as  Fawcett, Sienna Miller as his wife, Nina Fawcett and Robert Pattinson as Fawcett’s camp aide and fellow explorer, Henry Costin.

The Lost City of Z Synopsis

THE LOST CITY OF Z tells the incredible true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam), who journeys into the Amazon at the dawn of the 20th century and discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilization that may have once inhabited the region. Despite being ridiculed by the scientific establishment who regard indigenous populations as “savages”, the determined Fawcett – supported by his devoted wife (Sienna Miller), son (Tom Holland) and aide de camp (Robert Pattinson) – returns time and again to his beloved jungle in an attempt to prove his case, culminating in his mysterious disappearance in 1925.

The Lost City of Z is out in cinemas March 24th.
