The first poster hit just after the start of the year, with the first trailer following shortly after. With just over a month and a half to go before it hits US theatres, Apple have debuted a new trailer, giving us another great look at the supernatural horror.
“In the continuing story, Nell Sweetzer is found terrified and alone in rural Louisiana. When she returns to the relative safety of New Orleans, Nell finds that she can’t remember large portions of the previous months, but she does know that she is the last surviving member of her family. As Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her comes back with terrible new plans for her, meaning that her last exorcism was just the beginning.”
Ashley Bell reprises her role as Nell from the original film, and this time around will be starring alongside Spencer Treat Clark (Much Ado About Nothing), Julia Garner (Martha Marcy May Marlene), and Muse Watson (Prison Break).
Ed Gass-Donnelly (Small Town Murder Songs) is taking over the helm in place of Daniel Stamm, directing from a script he co-wrote with Damien Chazelle (Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench).
The ever-brilliant Eli Roth (Hostel, Aftershock), the king of horror of his generation, is back as a producer on the film, alongside Marc Abraham (Dawn of the Dead), Thomas A. Bliss (In Time), and Eric Newman (Children of Men).
The Last Exorcism Part II will be released in the US on 1st March, with its UK release date set for two weeks later on 15th March. Whilst we wait, here’s the new trailer to get the anticipation rising.
