Apple have debuted the first trailer for Willem Dafoe’s new movie, The Hunter which sees him traveling across the Tasmanian jungle looking for what people believe is the extinct Tasmanian Tiger. Although rules extinct in 1936, sightings continue to this day…. at least that’s what he trailer tells us. The Hunter also stars Sam Neil and Frances O’Connor and it looks like a pretty fab movie, full of intensity and is collecting awards at various festivals including Toronto Film Festival and is directed by Daniel Nettheim.

No news as yet on when it’ll be available in the UK but oddly, Apple are releasing the movie in the US via iTunes over a month before it’s in US cinemas. It’ll be on iTunes 2nd March and then in cinemas 6th April.

Have a watch of the trailer below:

THE HUNTER is the story of Martin, a skilled and ruthless mercenary sent into the Tasmanian wilderness on a hunt for a tiger believed to be extinct. Hired by an anonymous company that wants the tiger’s genetic material, Martin arrives in Tasmania posing as a scientist. He proceeds to set up base camp at a broken-down farmhouse, where he stays with a family whose father has gone missing. Usually a loner, Martin becomes increasingly close to the family; however, as his attachment to the family grows, Martin is led down a path of unforeseen dangers, complicating his deadly mission.
