The-Hunger-Games:-Catching-Fire-Character-Poster-Katniss-EverdeenKatniss Everdeen’s return in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is sure to become one of the most talked-about events of the year, with Jennifer Lawrence reprising her role as the young tribute in the blockbuster sequel.

The success that Lionsgate had with the original last year was higher than even they could have expected, and they’re naturally pulling out all the stops for the next instalment, due out towards the end of the year.

During The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’s appearance in Hall H today, they treated fans to the first look at the full-length trailer, having released the first teaser trailer back in the spring. And, following the set of almost a dozen character posters earlier in the week, that full trailer has debuted online as promised, via Yahoo Movies.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Lawrence is of course joined by another fine cast, starring alongside Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Elizabeth Banks, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Willow Shields, and Donald Sutherland.

Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) is at the helm for the sequel, directing from a script penned by Simon Beaufoy (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire), with Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine, Star Wars Episode VII) doing a rewrite, all based on Suzanne Collins’ original novel.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set to be released on November 22nd in the US and UK, and all odds point to it being one of the biggest movies of the year, if the success of the original is anything to go by. As we count down the months to its arrival, here’s is the brand new trailer, fresh out of Comic-Con for your viewing pleasure.
