Lionsgate UK has released the official trailer for ‘The Housemaid, the gripping new thriller based on Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel. Directed by Paul Feig (A Simple Favour, Bridesmaids), the film stars Sydney Sweeney (Anyone But You, The White Lotus) and Academy Award® nominee Amanda Seyfried (Mank, The Dropout), and will open in UK and Irish cinemas on Boxing Day 2025.

A wildly entertaining psychological thriller, The Housemaid plunges audiences into a twisted world where perfection is an illusion and nothing is as it seems. Sweeney takes on the role of Millie, a young woman desperate to escape her troubled past. When she accepts a live-in position as housemaid for wealthy couple Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar), it seems like the chance of a lifetime.

But behind the glossy facade of the Winchesters’ home lies a dark, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. What begins as a dream opportunity quickly spirals into something far more dangerous, as shocking twists and betrayals unfold that will keep audiences guessing until the very end.

The film also features Michele Morrone (365 Days) and Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds), rounding out a stellar ensemble cast. With Feig’s sharp eye for style and suspense, ‘The Housemaid’ promises to be both thrilling and intoxicating — a must-see cinematic event this holiday season.
