Today sees the release of Beautiful Creatures the first film adaption of five very popular books written by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Starring promising newcomers Alice Englert and Alden Ehrenreich as well as more established actors Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis and Emma Thompson the film tells the story of a small-minded American town which is thrown into disarray when a beautiful young ‘caster’ (similar to a witch), Lena, moves in with her uncle, the local recluse.

We took some time out to catch up with Alice and Alden to discuss working with such an impressive cast and why the films director, Richard LaGravenese, decided to ditch CGI in favour of making the cast do their own stunts..
