The-Heat-Quad-PosterPaul Feig returns behind the camera this month for his follow-up to 2011’s incredibly successful Bridesmaids. And with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy leading the cast, The Heat is looking good.

The film hits US cinemas at the end of this month, and crosses the Atlantic at the end of next. And now Fox have released a new clip, along with two new posters for our shores.

Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s “finest,” is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies.

Bullock and McCarthy star alongside a great cast, led by Michael Rapaport, Demián Bichir, Nathan Corddry , Marlon Wayans, Kaitlin Olson, Taran Killam, Andy Buckley, and Tony Hale.

Feig is directing from a script by Katie Dippold (MADtv, Parks and Recreation), who makes her feature debut here as a writer.

McCarthy and Feig are of course reuniting after working together on Bridesmaids, which really launched the former’s career to new highs two years ago. I’m a big fan of Feig’s work, and am looking forward to seeing what he’s lined up for us next.

The Heat will be released in the US on June 28th, with its UK release date following a few weeks later on 31st July.
