Directed by Steven Soderbergh, making his penultimate film before retirement, Side Effects is hands down one of my most anticipated films of 2013.
Channing Tatum, Rooney Mara, Jude Law, and Catherine Zeta-Jones lead the all-star cast, and now Yahoo Movies have debuted the first trailer, cementing its status as one of the best films to look forward to next year.
The film revolves around,
“a troubled young woman (Mara) who develops a dangerous love triangle between her doctor (Law) and her newly paroled husband (Tatum)”
Soderbergh is reuniting with his Contagion screenwriter, Scott Z. Burns, who has penned the script. Burns was originally to direct, but Soderbergh came on board at the helm after The Man from U.N.C.L.E. fell through last year.
Previously titled both The Bitter Pill and The Side Effects, it looks like we finally have official confirmation on its title, Side Effects, with this excellent first trailer.
Side Effects will be released on 8th February, 2013 in the US, followed by a 15th March release here in the UK. I can’t wait. This is going to be brilliant. An absolute must-see next year.
