At just after the stroke of midnight last night, 0:07 to be precise, we heard the official theme song for the upcoming Skyfall, sung by Adele, and it was utterly brilliant, oozing with the classic feel of a James Bond theme.

Continuing the celebrations of James Bond, Yahoo Movies have released the first clip from the film, which has featured in snippet-form in plenty of the footage we’ve seen already, so it’s nice to see it here in full.

“In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”

Daniel Craig returns to the role we all know and love him for, and stars alongside a terrific cast, headed up by Javier Bardem, Bérénice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Whishaw, Albert Finney, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace, and Dame Judi Dench.

Sam Mendes (American Beauty) is making his Bond debut behind the camera, directing from a script by Bond frequents Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and the ever-brilliant John Logan (Gladiator, Coriolanus).

Skyfall will be released in regular and IMAX theatres on 26th October here in the UK. In the US, it will be arriving in IMAX theatres on 8th November, a day earlier than its wide release on 9th November. For now, here’s the excellent first clip. And if you missed it last night, have a listen to Adele’s official theme. It is simply brilliant. Enjoy.
