The-Fault-in-Our-Stars-PosterAfter giving a terrific performance in The Spectacular Now, one of this year’s finest films, Shailene Woodley returns to work with screenwriting duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber for next year’s highly anticipated adaptation, The Fault in Our Stars.

Based on the best-selling novel, the film sees Woodley star opposite Ansel Elgort, who’ll also join her next year in Divergent. And with the Summer 2014 release date on the horizon, Fox has launched the first poster over on BuzzFeed.

Courtesy of Amazon, here’s the synopsis for the original novel:

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Willem Dafoe, Laura Dern, Nat Wolff, Lotte Verbeek, Sam Trammell, Emily Peachey, and (the hilarious) Mike Birbiglia complete the ensemble alongside Woodley and Elgort.

Josh Boone, who recently made his directorial debut with Stuck in Love, returns behind the camera for his sophomore feature, with Neustadter and Weber adapting John Green’s novel of the same name.

The Fault in Our Stars will be released in the US on June 6th, 2014, before arriving in the UK two weeks later on 20th June.
