Studiocanal has launched a new trailer from Will Sharpe’s ‘The Electrical Life of Louis Wain’ featuring Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy. We saw the film recently and reviewed it here.

Cumberbatch plays the role of the British artist Louis Wain in the extraordinary true story of a brilliant man, inspired by both his love of the world and the love of his life Emily, played by BAFTA nominee Claire Foy. Famous for his distinctive paintings of cats that inspired hearts and minds around the world, Louis Wain is a loveable inspirational hero with a courageous and infectious spirit, who saw the world in a unique and delightful way throughout his long life full of adventure, inspiring people to do the same.

Directed by BAFTA-winner Will Sharpe, ensemble supporting cast including Andrea Riseborough, Toby Jones, Sharon Rooney, Aimee Lou Wood, Hayley Squires, Stacy Martin, Phoebe Nicholls, Adeel Akhtar, Asim Chaudhry, Richard Ayoade, Julian Barratt and Sophia di Martino (Loki, Flowers).  It was recently announced that Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Free Guy), Nick Cave (20,000 Days on Earth) and Olivia Colman (The Crown, The Favourite) appear in the film, with Colman narrating.

Amazon Studios will release the film theatrically in the US on October 22 and on Prime Video on November 5, with STUDIOCANAL releasing the film in-cinemas across their territories – UK, France, Germany, Australia & New Zealand early in 2022.
