We’re only nine days away from Christopher Nolan’s final instalment of his and brother Jonathan’s epic Batman trilogy, and the anticipation is pretty much killing us all. We know it’s going to be incredible, and we can’t wait.

Adding fuel to the awesome fire that has been the ad campaign so far comes a brilliant new trailer, the first clip from the film, and a great new TV spot, to try to make the wait that little bit easier.

“Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive.  Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good.  For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda.  Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile.  But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.”

Christian Bale returns for one final outing as the Dark Knight, alongside the immense cast headed up by Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Marion Cotillard.

Christopher Nolan is of course behind the camera for the epic conclusion, directing from a script he co-wrote with brother Jonathan, from a story by the director and David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight).

The Dark Knight Rises will be released in regular and IMAX theatres next Friday, 20th July – my advice to you is to book your tickets early, because screenings in all cinemas will be selling like wild fire. It’s going to be amazing, and I can’t wait until the start of next weekend. Here’s why.
