The Dark Knight Rises is hitting cinemas this Friday, and as the week begins, the first early reviews have started surfacing online, confirming what we’ve long known to be true – this truly is an epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, and it’s one we’re all going to love.

With this first wave of reviews comes these three new TV spots, two including the praise critics are bestowing on the film, and the third a promotion in tandem with Nokia’s brilliant Lumia phone.

“Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive.  Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good.  For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda.  Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile.  But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.”

Christian Bale is back for one final outing as the Dark Knight, and he’s joined by an epic cast headed up by Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Marion Cotillard.

Christopher Nolan is back behind the camera once more, directing from a script he co-wrote with brother Jonathan Nolan, from a story by the director and David S. Goyer.

The Dark Knight Rises is out this Friday, 20th July in the UK and US in regular and IMAX theatres – tickets are almost entirely sold out at the BFI IMAX for its five-week run, but there are still a few seats left at most screenings, so act fast. For now, here are the great new TV spots for your viewing pleasure. A great way to start the week.
