The Creator

Here at HeyUGuys we’re big fans of Gareth Edwards, and have been right from the very start of his career when he compelled audiences with the brilliantly resourceful and ambitious feature Monsters. This, we can thankfully say, is backed up, when the filmmaker himself recalls our support for the film, when we had the pleasure of speaking to him about his latest production, the equally as ambitious, equally as resourceful – but to be honest, even more striking sci-fi The Creator.

We discussed with Edwards the challenges in getting unique, original stories like this off the ground, while he also talks about his cast, and what attracted him to those who got involved. He speaks about filming in Thailand, and we also discuss his optimism for AI, which comes through in the movie as well.

As Joshua and his team of elite operatives venture into enemy-occupied territory, they soon discover the world-ending weapon is actually an AI in the form of a young child.
