Thanks-For-Sharing-PosterStuart Blumberg (The Kids Are All Right) makes his anticipated debut with Thanks for Sharing, and having seen the film out in Toronto last year, I cannot recommend it enough.

The film was easily one of my favourites from the festival, alongside The Place Beyond the Pines and Much Ado About Nothing, and its imminent release in theatres next month couldn’t be more anticipated. (If you need any more persuading, you can read our five-star review here.)

The first trailer finally launched a few weeks back. And now the UK cut has debuted online, featuring essentially the same footage, but edited in a different order, cut to different music, and using different title cards. And whilst it might not be quite new, it’s still refreshing to see.

From Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter and first-time director Stuart Blumberg (THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT), THANKS FOR SHARING is a sharply comic and deeply moving look at a new kind of modern family, as a group of friends in recovery learns to face life together with heart, humor and humility.

Mark Ruffalo and Josh Gad are both remarkable here, giving standout leading performance, with Tim Robbins completing the leading trio of sex addicts. And starring brilliantly alongside them are Gwyneth Paltrow, Alecia ‘Pink’ Moore, Patrick Fugit, Joely Richardson, and Isiah Whitlock, Jr.

Blumberg, who earned an Oscar for co-writing The Kids Are All Right, makes his feature debut at the helm, co-writing the script with Matt Winston, with Edward Norton producing.

Thanks for Sharing will be released in the UK on 13th September, a week ahead of its US release date, set for September 20th. With just a few weeks left on the clock, new footage should hopefully be surfacing soon. And in the meantime, here’s the new UK cut for one of the best movies of the year.
